Confirmation begins! We’re looking forward to seeing the 7th & 8th Graders September 12th.
Christian formation is a life-long journey. Depending on one’s family background, it may begin at birth or at some other point in life. Confirmation class for current 7th and 8th grade students potentially represents one of those “life-marking moments” in which the student shifts from faith and God being something they do because their parents do it, to faith in Jesus as a personal choice and commitment. Adolescence is a huge time of change for students in almost every arena of their life – physically, socially, mentally and spiritually. The opportunity for students to begin to think deeply about God and His Word at this time in their life, in the context of church and home, is a goal of Confirmation classes.
*Saturday, September 15th: Confirmation Retreat for 9th graders, to conclude with Worship, Dinner, and Faith Project Presentations beginning at 5pm. Students [and parents] are encouraged to invite their mentors to the evening portion of this retreat.
