Rooted in The Lord for 75 Years
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7
We have great news! Mark VanderTuig is coming to help us kick off our celebration in July! So please mark your calendars, pray for our Nation’s healing and look forward to July 12, 2020.
Due to the “safer at home” state and national guidelines we decided to shorten our original plans of May 2020 to July 2021 and limit all the fun, worship and celebration to twelve months, July 12, 2020 to July 11, 2021!
We are working on a Mayoral proclamation, Family Fun Sundays, yard signs, banners and flags, special pet and tractor blessings, a Jell-O contest, and a Meatball and Lefse dinner to mention just a few of the events on the list. All details and specific dates will be posted soon here in the newsletter, and in our announcements, either in the bulletins or on our Facebook and web pages. So keep your eyes and ears peeled for more info on all of that.
Other parts of the celebration possibly could include “This year in History” testimonials, articles and photos from years past in our local newspapers.
Much of this depends on YOU! We can’t possible dig up memories we were not a part of! So, our committee invites any of our congregation members, past members and community members to share memories from the recent or more distant past via email or snail mail. (Please see addresses below). Some of you have already dropped off photos, articles and written letters from significant times in our congregation — Thank You for those. We also would love some recorded video spots that we could use on social media or in church before services, watch for announcements of opportunities to get involved in this effort.
In the meantime, stay home, stay safe, reach out by phone, video and snail mail to those you love and to those who are alone! Pass on your memories via email or regular mail to the following:
Church office: 310 W. Elizabeth Street Tomah: office@gloriadeitomah.com
Cyndy Hall: 1809 Truman Ave Tomah: picthis.cs@gmail.com
Other committee members are June Potter, Jelora Coman, and Jane Tessmann. Thank You for your help, time and great hopes of seeing you all soon!
